Lower Case were proud to be involved in the quantity surveying services of the first major hospital contract to be let under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI). Under the contract, the consortium designed, constructed and financed a new 400 in-patient bed hospital, maintained the facility and provided a range of non-clinical support services.

The Dartford & Gravesham community to benefit from a new hospital which will replace services currently provided on three sites in need of major maintenance;

The Health Authority and the NHS Executive were nevertheless satisfied that the new hospital remained good value for money and offered significant health benefits and the opportunity for the Trust to concentrate on delivering clinical services rather than building maintenance and support services.
