Two-phase project
The project is planned in two phases: the first phase is the
refurbishment of the old Broadcasting House, which will be complete in 2005.
The British Broadcasting Corporation's headquarters are in the
Portland-stone clad building at the top of Regent Street in central London.
It is a magnificent building, built with Art Deco features in the 1930s, and the distinctive front view of the building is a worldwide icon for the BBC. Over time various extensions have been added to the
building, maximising on the sites potential and requiring the Corporation to seek further accommodation elsewhere.
The second phase is the construction of the new building due to finish in 2007/8 which will be built at nearby BBC White City The complex comprises White City One, a 25,000 square metre office building,
as well as the BBC's New Broadcast and Media Centres. mpg provided quantity surveying services |
