|
Twickenham's Old South Stand was demolished on Sunday 10
July 2005 as part of the £80m redevelopment scheme. |

mpg are involved in the Cost Planning of this development.
As well as the new arts centre, the new South Stand complex
at Twickenham will include a 200-bed, four-star luxury
hotel; a 60,000ft² conference, exhibition and banqueting
space and 42,000ft² of office facilities; a 40,000ft² health
and fitness club, including pool, gym and spa as well as a
new RFU Store. The new stand will increase stadium capacity
from the current 75,000 to approximately 82,000, incorporate
enhanced safety and security measures and improve provision
for persons with disabilities and public and corporate
patrons. |

|
Central to the new stadium's plans are the measures to boost
the local economy by an estimated £40million and allow
non-rugby fans in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames
to make use of the new facilities including a new performing
arts centre for use by local music, theatre and drama
groups. |
